B.Sc in Mathematics and Computing is an undergraduate degree course which is a combinationofMathematics, Computer Science and Financial Engineering covering theoretical, computational and practical aspects. This laboratory based course gives the exposure and training in application-oriented practical subjects. Students are exposed to advanced research topics through electives and a mandatory two-semester project work.This course integrates the power of mathematics with the power of computing in a symbiotic manner.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Computing is a three-year degree course affiliated to MAKAUT (formally known as WBUT).
Students of Mathematics and Computing are taught subjects like advanced Algebra, Differential Equations, Programming for Problem Solving, Numerical Analysis, Discrete Mathematics, Data Structure and Algorithms, Optimization Theory, Theory of Probability and Statistics,Fundamentals of Soft Computing, Formal Language and Automata Theory, etc.
MAKAUT’s B.Sc in Mathematics and Computing is a 3-year, full-time course. The course is divided into 6 semesters. There is also sufficient emphasis on field projects for building practical experience.
Any student who has passed [10+2] examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics is eligible for admission.
