In recent times, Media and communications Industry has appeared as an economic sector that has a very promising future, as data and information influence our lives to a great extent. Increasing importance is placed upon the exchange of information in a global economy. Bachelor’s in Media Science aims at enabling the students to describe, formulate, analyze and deal with issues related to Media and communication. This leads to giving students a foundation either for carrying out occupational functions or for further study.

Great value is placed in the course on Application oriented methods of thinking and working. There are a Number of practicals held on various subjects to enable hands on learning.
Upon successful completion of the course you will be equipped with the necessary qualification, knowledge and skills to enter into a career in Media. There are a number of opportunities in the media houses, Large corporate houses in the media or PR departments, Publishing houses, Advertising agencies, Consulting Firms etc. You will even be able to pursue Higher studies in India or abroad.
WBUT’s Bachelors Degree in Media Science is a 3-years, full-time course. The course is divided into 6 semesters with a range of specializations as elective subjects in the last semester. There is also sufficient emphasis on field projects for building practical experience
Any student who have passed [10+2] examination with English is eligible for admission.
