George Group of Colleges organized an alumni meet on 27th April 2019 at Regenta Orkos. We were delighted that this year's reunion had the best turn out ever, with over 200 alumni and guests in attendance. The evening was very special, not only did the weather stay fine, but for the first time there was an informal option of DJ. It was a good chance for friends to meet up and enjoy in an informal setting. There was a colour code for the event - Black, Blue, Red and Pink. The evening was well designed with a band performance, interactive session, DJ, and ended with a grand dinner.
Like the previous year, this year too, the 3 days’ gala programme, ‘The Quest” 2018 organized by George School of Law from 06-12-18 to 08.12.18 was a great success in terms of generating enthusiasm amongst the students.
On the first day, three events, e.g., debate, quiz and extempore were held and enthusiastically participated by students from various semesters. In the debate, best speakers were chosen from amongst the participants. Quiz programs had 5 different rounds which had mixtures of general knowledge and law questions. On the basis of the scores, best from amongst 5 participating teams was selected. Finally, extempore was held on various topics of relevance and 3 speakers were selected on the basis of their logical flow of ideas, their vocabulary and body languages.
On the next day, a moot court session was held under the aegis of the guest Judge of the event, the Public Prosecutor of Srirampur Court, Ld. Advocate Joydeep Mukhopadhyay. The session was full of activities with the participating groups bringing their points as explicitly as possible before the guest Judge. Many learning points were brought forth and noted by the students. Finally three students were nominated by the Guest Judge as winners of the event on the basis of their case build-up, arguing ability and likewise.
The last day of the programme saw a mock session of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly being organized by the students of different semester bringing forth the various activities that are usually seen in Assembly sessions. On the basis of various parameters as control of session, ability of debate
